Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has released a country song. It’s called “Country Strong” and its main purpose is to promote a movie by the same name co-starring Tim McGraw.
It's not bad… I think? My high opinion of Ms. Paltrow as an actress has blinded me. Eventually the listeners will decide if and how much we play her song, but who’s to say your vision isn’t blurred as well? It happens all the time. You like an artist so much you lose perspective.
Admitting a song/album stinks is admitting your star may be fading. It feels like failure, so we fake it. I did this through two Shooter Jennings albums after falling in love with his 2005 debut.
