Is a hug with Taylor Swift worth it?

Some college kids in Alabama have created an online buzz by petitioning Taylor Swift for a free hug. Instead of focusing on their coursework or (more realistically) beer and girls, they've made it their quest to feel Tay-Tay's arms wrapped around their necks. I can say from experience, it isn't worth the trouble fellas.

I'm not trying to insult Taylor. She just isn't built to hug.

Think about some of the best huggers you know. No doubt all of these people are robust in stature and character. I think of my grandmother... a pleasantly plump woman who'd just open up and take you in. It was a warm, safe feeling in her arms. I watched a reggae band for an entire hour while wondering what it would feel like to be pulled close to the healthy, older, woman singing. After the show... you're damn right I asked for one.

I've got an uncle who gives good hugs. In country music I can tell you that Lee Brice is a great hugger. I've heard Keith Anderson is the Michelangelo of the sport.
Taylor is pencil thin and, while she's very outgoing, not recklessly friendly. Her effort is sincere, but the encounter is a little forced. She doesn't commit with her lower body... I'm not asking for a slow grind, but hug 100% or don't hug at all.

My advice to these college students... Go see what Keith Anderson is up to. No one is going to make fun of you for enjoying a good bro-hug. No one who isn't already laughing that is.
